POOR PEOPLE'S FOOD - SPÄTZLE

POOR PEOPLE'S FOOD - APFELSTRUDEL

For this performance, I am going tol visit a collector's home and cooks one of two dishes of my Austrian childhood:

You can pick either Spätzle - a kind of Alpine Austrian, southern-German, Swiss dish, or Apfelstrudel, a kind of Apple pie. Given the few basic elements of these dishes and the regional availability (Alpine cheese and apples) it is assumed that this food used to be the food of the local poor - with no meat and no vegetables involved apart from onions. Today, these dishes lost its economic markers and are - as in the case of Spätzle - just regional (some claim them for their national identity) or - as in the case of the Apfelstrudel - more international though with a different name.

The artist will share his attempt to reactivate childhood memory through food with a collector and his /her friends and they will all share stories while eating the dish together - with up to 4 guests.

A photograph of a moment of choice during this process as well as a certificate will remain as a collectible.

There are also ways to perform these dishes without collecting. In such a case, photos are taken for documentation only and no collecting item changes hand.
