Since I couldn't really understand the Tirana newspapers I was trying to get some introduction into Basic Albanian.
I was able to study a little bit of Albanian during the days I was in Tirana. It gave me some insight and an excursion plus a taste for more.

I wanted to learn Albanian already for a long time:
Below see an image Hamza and I took a couple of years ago. I made a t-shirt asking people to teach me Albanian.
the t-shrit I was wearing solicites Pastho-teaching. "Please, teach me Pashto", "Please, teach me Albanian"
Below a work I made in 1995 for Icebox:
Albanian was already on my mind since 1995. Please, teach me Albanian. Part of a piece I installed in neighboring Greece which at the time wasn't popular at all. It was
nearly impossible for me, to have this piece installed, refering to all the surrounding languages of Greece.
I also introduced it at the Venice Biennial in a piece entitled: Please, teach me ... (50 languages spoken in countries that don't have any representation at the Venice Biennial)
